Riyat is a student-run nonprofit moving between Islamabad and Lahore - turning padel tournaments, dholak nights and ration drives into a steady stream of support for kids, schools and families who need it most.
“We started this NGO on a random Tuesday - barely twelve people, no real plan, just a school in Muridke that needed help.” - from how Riyat tells its own story
A professional procrastinator and amateur yapper who loves to over-intellectualize everything - but shows up with stoic leadership whenever Riyat needs it. Wants to serve the underprivileged and bring the same joy and enthusiasm to his team that he brings to a room (so he's been told).
A chronic overthinker who somehow didn't overthink starting Riyat. What began as a simple mission to support a nonprofit school in Muridke grew into something far beyond what she imagined - and she's still learning to hold both the chaos of spontaneous ideas and the systems that keep them running.
Started this NGO on a random Tuesday with barely twelve people, and hasn't stopped being proud of how far it's come. A self-described workaholic who's always on the phone making sure donations land in the right places - self-respect takes a back seat the moment it's for Riyat.
The guy with a "warh gaye" attitude when tackling crises - meet the President of Riyat. Despite a questionable sleep schedule and a life full of side quests, he's 100% locked in on every visit, event and donation. His motto: "sudhar nahi sakta, bas ab ghaltiyan sudharey ab" - fueled by passion and a steady supply of coke.
No single cause - just a rotating set of drives, nights and matches, all feeding the same fund.
Ration boxes and iftar meals across Islamabad & Lahore, run with EOTO - a school giving 100–150 underprivileged kids a free education.
Small handmade and sourced gifts handed out to children - past drives have reached kids at Jinnah Hospital.
A charity sports marathon - padel, badminton, table tennis and e-sports - open to anyone 25 & under, plus families. Every entry fee goes to charity.
From fundraiser to fundspender - a games-and-balloons day for kids, run alongside Hamara Ghar Welfare Trust.
Nostalgia-themed fundraiser parties - mock shaadis, ludo, antakshari, mehndi corners - with every rupee of profit donated.
Days spent at places like Door of Awareness School - sharing time with kids and talking about kindness, including to strays.
Community posts on mental health and suicide prevention, made to keep the conversation open rather than silent.
Most of what's above started as a DM in the group chat. If you've got a cause, bring it to the team.
Every Charathon ticket, dholki entry and ration box is paid for by someone who DM'd first. Reach out and we'll point you to whichever drive is open right now.
Riyat runs almost entirely on student volunteers across two cities. We're recruiting across four teams right now.
